The cult favourite anthology series tells a unique self-contained story in each episode, with the only common link being that they all take place in one enclosed location – all of which bear the number nine.

The BAFTA-winning series has amassed legions of fans with its clever scripts, shock twists and all-star casts, with guest stars in this latest outing including Daniel Mays (Line of Duty), Sophie Okonedo (Ratched) and Diane Morgan (Motherland).

Season 7 is also noteworthy for featuring Mark Gatiss and therefore functioning as a mini reunion of sorts for Shearsmith and Pemberton's earlier work: The League of Gentlemen.

Shearsmith and Pemberton said in a statement: "We hope you'll join us and another incredible cast of actors for more surprises that will make your jaws drop and spines tingle. Heads might even roll, and if not heads, definitely eyes."
